Vintage Sterling Cufflinks with Aztec Design
Great vintage cufflinks with Aztec design etched into a round button-shaped
link with a torpedo or lozenge shaped backing. These links could be from as early as the Victorian age of the late 1890s
but were also used through the Retro period of the 1930s. The design shows a face in the center of concentric rings
with hash mark designs, and although the faces are the same, they are different enough in their lines to show that they were
each cut by hand. Stamped on the back “Plata Sterling 925” the links are from a Spanish speaking country,
most likely Chili or Peru since Mexican jewelry most often identifies itself with the country name. In great condition
with no noticeable dings or scratches, the links measure 5/8” in diameter with the back lozenge 15/16” long. View of the back:
