Superb authentic Art Deco Sterling silver filigree ring is die struck with a beautiful setting for a marquise shaped cut amethyst stone.  The setting on this ring is unusual and quite beautiful making use of wheat sheaves and flower petals as well as curlicues.  The metal is die struck rather than stamped, adding to the quality of the piece.  There are palm-like fronds that serve as the prongs to hold the stone in place in the high setting typical of the 1920s.  Both the stone and the metal are in excellent condition.  The ring, marked “Sterling” on the inside shank, is between a large size 4 1/5 or small 5.
