Mid Victorian 18k Gold Pin with Seed Pearls
Very pretty 18k
gold pin from the mid Victorian Period c. 1870 is formed
of a hollow shield-shaped body etched with a wavy pattern, tiny starbursts and decorative trim. The top has a stylized
ribbon surmounted that is decorated with taille d'Epergne enamelling and is set with two grey seed pearls. This is a
fine example of the etching that was typical of the period. The back has a C-clasp and tube hinge and also has a hole
that likely held a hook or loop to have it serve as a pendant. Measures 1 3/16” wide by 7/8” tall.
