Simmons Betsy Ross Black Enamel Bangle
This exquisite bangle bracelet of taille d'epargne black enamel has a body with a ribbed design
in gold plate contrasting the black enamel. The clasp and hinge have an ornate design similar to Victorian taille d'epargne
jewelry. The inside of the bracelet is engraved in script "Evelyn to Elizabeth Sept. 10, 1938" and is also
stamped "Simmons Betsy Ross" which is the mark of the jewelry maker. During the 1930's Simmon made these lovely
bracelets that emulate Victorian designs. They were popular as a keepsake piece that were often engraved in the inside
with sentiments from the giver as this one is. A beautiful design, the bracelet is 3/8" thick and is slightly oval
making it comfortable to wear for a petite woman or young girl. It measures 2 1/4" across the inside and has a
safety chain with a tongue clasp. There is some wear to the black enameling but otherwise is in very good condition.
