Vintage Crest Shaped Compact
This vintage compact is very special. It is in wonderful condition with an etched gold-tone
floral front that opens to a metal mirror and unused powder puff. Below the powder puff is a latched compartment with
a honeycomb design that opens by pushing a tiny button. Inside the compartment is a well to hold your powder.
The metal mirror in the top also has a latch that opens to reveal a tiny puff. Below the puff is another well filled
with compressed rouge. There is a foil seal that has been broken but the rouge appears to not have ever been used.
The backside of the compact is a solid black enamel. The edge has a lovely impressed design of lines and floral bars.
But the pièce de résistance is the original box that has a message inscribed in pencil that reads "My first
gift from Paul 1937". A treasure from the late Art Deco period, it measures 2 1/2" long by nearly 2 1/2"
wide and is in excellent condition.
