Sets - Green Glass Drops Necklace & Earring Set - SOLD!
This pretty set is very old dating back to at least the transitional period of 1910-1920
or possibly much earlier, as glass drops such as these are found in Victorian jewelry dated around 1875 (book reference to
"Popular Jewelry 1840-1940" by Roseann Ettinger pg. 23). The set has 11 delicate emerald green glass drops
hanging from a brass 18" chain. Matching earrings are for pierced ears and have the same lovely green drops hanging
from a tiny gilded brass flower that has been hand welded to the wire earring finding. The drops measure 3/8" long
and are attached to wires that thread them to the necklace and earrings. This is a wonderfully simple design, rare to
find as a set. There is some evidence that the spring ring closure on the necklace is a replacement that works well.
