Gilded Rhinestone Peacock Pin
This is a great petite pin from the early 20th century depicting a peacock with blue and green
rhinestone feathers. The metal is gilded brass on both sides and shows wonderful detail for such a tiny pin. The
rhinestones are all closed in the back and are all prong set chatons. The clasp is a simple C-clasp. The metal
is quite sturdy and does not bend. Pins such as these were very popular from the Edwardian period up through the 1920s,
often called the Transitional Period when brass jewelry and rhinestone jewelry from Czechoslovakia dominated the American
jewelry box. It measures 1 3/8" long by 3/4" tall. It will make a wonderful addition to your collection
or it would make a great gift.
