Garnet Gold Filled Necklace
So lovely and delicate are these emerald cut garnets set in a tiny dog-toothed bezel setting.
Each stone is surrounded by an oval of solid twisted open metal plaque. The plaques are linked together with gold filled
chain. There are six plaques that connect to a fine box link ribbed gold filled chain. The chain is marked "Sturdy
1/20 12K GF". The Sturdy company was in business circa the early 1950s and the style of the necklace is consistent
with the Retro period of the late 1940s to early 1950s. This lovely and delicate necklace has garnets measuring 5/16"
square. The total length of the necklace is 16 1/4" long and would be best worn on a petite neck. The garnet
is the birthstone for January. It is in excellent condition.
