Rings - Scarab Flip Ring - SOLD!
A unique treasure from the Art Deco period, this is an authentic flip ring featuring
a scarab or beetle, the Egyptian symbol for life renewed. The discovery of King Tut's tomb in 1922 triggered a revival
of Egyptian styles in jewelry and the scarab, or dung beetle, became a theme for jewelry that lasted into the 1930s.
The ring is set with a plain oval onyx stone on one side and silver inlaid with onyx forming the scarab on the flip side.
It is nicely trimmed with beaded silver and has a ratcheted pattern resembling insect legs that form the shoulder and
the shank which is U-shaped. I have never seen another like this one. In very good condition, it is a size
8. SORRY! THIS ITEM HAS ALREADY BEEN SOLD.
